In 2018, Dessy and Honey embarked on a journey that would eventually lead to the creation of Mia Bella Studios. Honey is originally from New Orleans and Dessy is from Pittsburgh. Honeys name started buzzing around Houston because of her skills. Around that time Dessy had a company selling hair extensions and needed a stylist to help display her hair business.
Over the past two years, Dessy and Honey developed a strong bond rooted in their shared passion for business and dedication to excellence. Combining their expertise and innovative ideas, they launched Mia Bella Studios, a premier hair salon dedicated to delivering top-notch services and products.
Their mission began with an extensive search for the best raw hair available in the market. Hi, I’m Honey. A lot of people know me as Honey’s Hair Box, One of the top hair stylists and educators in Houston. Growing up watching my mom do hair in her kitchen, I grew an interest at a very young age. I started out doing cute styles on myself and not long after friends and family. I like to say I didn’t choose hair, hair chose me.

If you were to ask me while I was in high school where do I see myself in 10 years I would say being a chef lol . Around that time a hairstylist was never looked at as being a career, more so a side hustle . But as time went on I started to realize there’s so much more the industry offers than just being a hairstylist.

So here I am 13 years later, owning my first salon with some great hair stylists, also selling some of the best hair extensions in the city. This is a dream come true and it’s only the beginning!​​
